The globalization has decreased the distance between countries, economies, and institutions. As a result of this, the conditions of their developments and co-existence are redefined. In this context, our department aims to equip its students with the skills required to succeed in today’s challenging environment. Our graduates will be able to work in private sector, public sector and non-governmental organizations. They will work as experts or managers in international companies in various departments, such as import-export, accounting, finance, production, marketing, sales, research, administration, human resources, etc, in the chambers of commerce and industry and in various research institutions. Moreover, our graduates will be able to continue their academic careers since they will have acquired all the necessary knowledge and skills.
The strength of our department lies in our academic staff competence, their foreign language skills and their ability to use modern technology. Thanks to links that are formed with educational institutions abroad, students will also have the opportunity to spend part of their studies in different foreign universities. In addition, students will have the chance to meet faculty members from both Turkish universities and universities abroad in the seminars, workshops and conferences organized by the department.
The Economics Undergraduate Program will set out on its journey in the academic year 2012-2013. We aim at receiving students via the Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS) as well as attracting foreign students in line with our efforts to create an international environment. All the students who will be placed in our program via the LYS will be offered various forms of scholarships. Our department targets to be among the world's most popular schools that are engaged in research and education in the field of economics. Hence, we expect that successful students from all over the world will prefer our program.
