With rapid globalization and increased trade volume, the scope of international logistics activities has grown exponentially. Advances in information, communication, transportation, and packaging and handling technologies led to the emergence of Logistics as a strategic business function that must be planned and managed in order to ensure competitive advantage. Consequently, there is a growing need for capable professionals and managers with expertise in the area of International Logistics. Turkey’s geopolitical position and transitional status in world trade places particular emphasis on International Logistics as an area of study in our Country as the need for logistics professionals grows at an increasing rate.
The objective of the Department of International Logistics Management is to prepare students for a successful career in international logistics providing them with the knowledge, skills and the flexibility to adapt to the constantly-changing competitive forces in the global business world. We are dedicated to equip our students with critical thinking and effective communication skills, awareness for corporate social responsibility and personal ethics, and with leadership qualities in addition to a world-class logistics management education. Our comprehensive undergraduate program covers theory and application in the International Logistics Management discipline including manufacturing and operations planning and control, international supply chain and logistics system design and simulation, inventory and transportation management, procurement, and distribution and warehouse operations.
The graduates of International Logistics Management department may work as experts or managers in the various departments of international business firms such as planning, sourcing, manufacturing, inventory management, logistics, warehousing and transportation, international logistics firms, consulting firms, and in public or civic organizations with international trade and logistics operations.
